DREDGING OF SILT CANAL – DURBAN PORT NAVIGATION CHANNEL

Katlantic was engaged to execute critical dredging operations within the Durban silt canal, including the removal of high spots at Pier 2 to ensure the safe and efficient berthing of vessels. These activities were carried out with precision, technical competence, and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. 

SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDED:

Dredging of the navigation channel in the Durban silt canal 

High-spot removal at Pier 2 to restore vessel clearance 

Deployment of a barge-mounted long-reach excavator 

Loading of dredged material into Katlantic’s fleet of split hopper barges 

Removal and responsible disposal of dredged material 

Continuous monitoring to maintain environmental compliance
