EBENEZER DAM – EMERGENCY HYDRAULIC REPAIRS

In August and again in November 2019, the Department of Water and Sanitation appointed Katlantic to carry out urgent repair works on a malfunctioning hydraulic system at Ebenezer Dam. The project required specialist underwater intervention to restore the system’s operational capacity.

SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDED:

Underwater investigation and condition assessment

Technical reporting and repair planning

Repair, installation, and commissioning of hydraulic system components

Diver-assisted works in confined and regulated dam environments

Final testing and reinstatement of dam functionality

Through disciplined execution and underwater expertise, Katlantic successfully repaired and recommissioned the hydraulic system — enabling the dam to return to full operational function. The works demonstrated Katlantic’s ability to respond to emergency infrastructure failures with speed, precision, and reliability.

This project also highlighted Katlantic’s role as a 100% black-owned and Level 1 B-BBEE contractor, trusted to deliver highly technical underwater repair services in a sector historically reserved for privileged operators.
