STRUCTURAL UNDERWATER REPAIRS: BULK CONNECTIONS COAL TERMINAL, BERTH 3
Following the devastating 2017 storm, Katlantic was contracted through WBHO to execute critical structural underwater repairs to Berth 3 at the Bulk Connections Coal Terminal.
This complex operation required careful coordination, precision diving, and integrated topside support to repair significant collision damage to the quay wall.
SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDED:
Pipe management on the beach
Removal of anomalies from the sea floor using a barge and long reach excavator
Demolition of damaged quay wall sections
Underwater cutting and drilling of anchor points
Installation and repositioning of underwater shuttering formwork
Placement of underwater tremie concrete
All dive support services for concurrent topside works
Dredging of the affected seabed area
This project was successful thanks to our ability to deliver high-risk structural repairs in an active port environment with full integration of marine plant, divers, and civil support teams.
